When all of the chapters have been loaded into ACX, there’s literally a button I click that says, “I’m Done.” This initiates your review of the audio files.
What do you do?
Listen to the audio files while you read your manuscript. Make sure that the words match and that you don’t hear any stray noises that will distract the listener.
Be mindful to listen for pronunciation errors.
Make sure that any text adjustments I made (due to the aural nature of the book) work and preserve your intended message.
If you’ve heard things that you’d like me to fix or adjust, open a Word file, note the error(s), how it should be addressed, the chapter number, and the time stamp. Then, email me the error file.
On ACX, you’ll need to “Request Changes,” which will unlock the audio files so that I can fix them for you.
I’m really good at proofing my work, but I’m not perfect. Please don’t feel embarrassed if you catch a mistake that I’ve missed. Let me know. I’ll fix it. It’s no big deal.
